Dr Jon Goldman has retired from his position as a trustee of the TMRF after an incredible 30-year commitment to the fund.
For many years, Jon was a respiratory consultant at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT). With his medical knowledge and understanding of Torbay and its population, he was an expert medical trustee whose scrutiny of projects would really get to the heart of a proposal. Following his retirement as consultant, Jon continued to serve the TMRF with the same unwavering dedication and support.
Jon has been greatly valued by his fellow trustees, advisors and beneficiaries past and present of the TMRF for his wisdom, wise counsel, insight and salient questioning.
The trustees come from both medical and non-medical backgrounds, bringing a blend of experience to the decision-making process. Jon’s measured guidance was greatly respected by the lay-trustees in particular, helping them select projects that really deserved the fund’s support and were ultimately of the greatest benefit to the people of Torbay.
Most recently, Jon’s enthusiasm for the TMRF-sponsored PhD programme was an inspiration to colleagues both within TMRF and TSDFT and he took a key role facilitating the implementation of this programme, following the progress of successful applicants and being genuinely delighted to see the first graduate awarded their doctorate.
The TMRF Trustees are very grateful for Jon’s outstanding contribution to the Trust.
